The polished blades of the Wasabi Black Series are made of newly developed corrosion-resistant 6A/1K6 steel with a hardness value of 58 (±1) HRC. The extensive range offers both double bevel blade shapes, as well as traditional Japanese single bevel blade shapes. The slightly arched back of the blade allows a secure grip during work, making it easier to make fine rocking movements, for example.

The matt black plastic grip is water resistant and thus particularly robust. Its oval or chestnut shape depends on the blade size and exhibits a pleasant, natural feel thanks to the addition of bamboo powder. The handle and stainless steel blade are permanently moulded together, ruling out the accumulation of dirt.

The Deba knife is a heavy, thick Japanese knife used primarily to cut and staple whole fish. Its weight helps the blade to penetrate the head and thick bones more easily, while its slender tip makes it easier to fill the flesh with the bones. It can also be used for meat or poultry, but it is not recommended for cutting large bones.

Care instructions:

Cleaning

  • Rinse knives in warm water before first use
  • After each use wash promptly with mild detergent and dry with a soft cloth
  • Acidic foods should be rinsed off immediately
  • Always wipe the knife away from your body and away from the cutting edge
  • Never place knives in the dishwasher
  • Always wash by hand to protect the material and maintain long lasting sharpness

Sharpening & Care

  • Do not leave wooden handles soaking in water for long periods
  • Oil the handle occasionally with neutral vegetable oil or camellia oil
  • Sharpen periodically to restore edge wear and maintain sharpness

Storing

  • Ensure the blade does not come into contact with other metal objects during storage to prevent damage and staining
  • Ideal storage options include a knife block, wooden drawer insert, wooden magnetic rack, or a protective blade guard

Returns

COOZINA accepts product replacements and returns under the following conditions:
i) Send us your replacement request within 30 days from delivery date.
ii) The products must be intact in their original packing and remain unused.
iii) The products must be accompanied by the corresponding sales document (e.g. sales receipt). iv) You assume the responsibility and transport charges for the return of the products to our address.
